Standing In Responsibility
This presence exists as a custodial record for the standing, return, and ongoing responsibility associated with Kupe Nuku IO-Ariki. It is not a promotional platform, a campaign, or a commentary site. It serves as a place of presence and accountability, holding continuity across generations.
Purpose of This Location
The Kupe Nuku IO-Ariki stands to record:
- the return of Kupe in full
- the anchoring of responsibility to whenua
- the preparation of land for ancestral and collective gathering
- the re-establishment of cosmological alignment carried through whakapapa
- This work is held as responsibility, not claim.
Current Status
The whenua at Te Hokianga Nui Ō Kupe has been gifted for this purpose and is presently undergoing preparation.
This includes:
- infrastructure development
- environmental care
- preparation for collective gathering and unveiling
- Further information will be released only in alignment with time, tikanga, and responsibility
- preparing the 14 pouihi for the return and unveiling
November 2026
A significant collective gathering is planned for 1st to 5th of November 2026 at Te Hokianga Nui Ō Kupe, marking a major stage in this return and anchoring process. Details will be shared when appropriate.
Relation to Wider Work
International and relational engagement aligned with this kaupapa is supported through Pacific Inherent Relations International (PIRI). This site remains dedicated solely to the custodial record of Kupe Nuku IO-Ariki.
